The Ministries of our Church
Our Summer Sun Groups are a fun way to enjoy Kelowna Summers with others. These are low commitment small groups that run for a few weeks in July and August. Go to every group, go to one or two; go every week, or only once; it’s totally up to you!Contact Group Leaders for meetup dates and locations!
The Rutland Seventh-day Adventist Church is engaged in developing a CARE GROUP MINISTRY among its members. CARE stands for ‘Christ’s Attitude Reflected in Everybody’. Our Care Groups are places for sharing the Word of God and how the Word influences member's lives. Each Care Group is wholistic in nature and reflects the components of:
- a nurturing community whose purpose is soul-winning
- spiritual leadership opportunities
- responsibility for each other’s spiritual growth and development
- preparing new leaders for future Care Groups.A Care Group itself provides many different roles within the group - there is a leader and carer plus members and seekers. The Gateway Adventist Centre in Australia has provided various study series that a Care Group can choose to pursue over the six to ten weeks that any given group functions. At the conclusion of a series of study, on a topic of their choice, the group moves on to a different topic with new members and seekers because some members will start their own groups. Through it all, prayer is the essential ingredient that guides the participants in sustaining their inquiry and understanding of God’s purposes in their life and in the lives of others. We have a number of Care Groups functioning this year. If you would like to become a member or seeker in a Care Group, please contact the Church Office at 250-860-5096 and register for the next available spot.
